The Centre Buildings Redevelopment (CBR) at the London School of Economics is a 19,000 m², £78 million project completed in 2019 that replaced four outdated buildings with a modern academic hub at the heart of the Aldwych campus. Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, it features two interlocking blocks linked by a central atrium and LSE’s first public square, improving campus connectivity. The building includes collaborative learning spaces, offices for several academic departments and institutes, and amenities such as lecture theatres, a 200-seat auditorium, roof terraces, and a café. It achieved BREEAM “Outstanding” for sustainability and has won major awards, including a RIBA National Award and the AJ Architecture Award for Higher Education (2021).
