Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre

Work is well under way at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre in Leamington as a £14.5 million revamp takes shape.

Following being shortlisted for Sports and Leisure Architect of the year in the 2017 Building Design magazine awards, we are excited to see the DarntonB3 designed Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre has now started on site.

Principal Doorsets provided PVC Postformed, solid laminated timber core doorsets to our customer, design and build contractor Speller Metcalfe who are delivering the improved facility for Warwick District Council.

Fire Rated PVC Postform Doorsets

The centre is currently part of an overhaul of leisure facilities across the district, with nearby St Nicholas Park in Warwick also undergoing a makeover again by Speller Metcalfe with Principal Doorsets providing product.

While the centre on Newbold Terrace is currently a building site, it is clear to see progress is being made. During July, we delivered doorsets to the project.

Using PVC, we wrapped the doors and frames with product to conform to a 30-minute fire rating. The doors being provided with and without vision panels.

Postform doors and frames offer hard wearing, robust durable surfaces, safer for small fingers being trapped as the leading and trailing edges of the door have a radius, easy to clean and contemporary in style.

Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre will be nearly three times the size it was before, being significantly reconfigured by the team at Speller Metcalfe. The leisure centre will partly open in August and be completely by next spring.

The design seeks to embody the requirements of a modern, bespoke leisure facility and reinvigorate Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre to achieve its potential as a key community leisure destination.
