Healthcare (1)

No job is too big or too small for us here at Principal Doorsets. We work across many industries including healthcare, hospitality, education, leisure, commercial, Passivhaus and high end residential. Two very different projects we’ve recently worked on included the manufacture and supply of almost 6,000 doorsets for a luxury London residential build whilst also providing 21 doorsets to a specialist healthcare project in our local community.

When working with our customers and partners they know they will not only get a quality product, tailored to their specific needs, but they will get our expertise and outstanding customer service.

We work with each customer from their initial enquiry through to delivery and installation. It's our pride in attention to the product, customer care and the finer details that sees our customers coming back time and time again for their doorsets. They know with us that we not only deliver on product and performance, but our knowledge and experience in the industry means we go the extra mile.

We were recently delighted to help our local healthcare trust with a new discharge ward. As a repeat customer, they knew we could deliver the quality product needed in this busy environment. They came to us to specify the finishing and appearances of the doorsets in their healthcare setting. This included non-fire doorsets, FD30’s and additional glazing screens (NFR & FD30). The strategy the customer wanted was to use colour on the public doorsets for directional purposes, whilst keeping staff doorsets white.

The public accessible doorsets were manufactured in oak laminate, which as a hard-wearing surface provides longevity of the product. In addition, each doorset was given a postform wrapped frame to protect the door and increase its service life. Being a busy healthcare setting, some of the doors would be subject to heavier use and knocks from trolleys, hospital beds and wheelchairs, and thus needed further protection. These doors were given a PVC wrapped frame and the doors had edge protection. We ensure they delivered the best value for money with enhanced duty ratings and longevity of service. The glazing screens required were postform wrapped and coloured to match the hospital’s theme.

The fire doorsets were fully integrated with ironmongery. This gives peace of mind that the hardware has been tested and specified within the field of application, meaning the product has been tested and proven to work together in a fire.

We and the customer were delighted with the finished product in the new hospital ward.
