Western Power Distribution (now National Grid Electricity Distribution) completed a multi-million-pound redevelopment of its Swansea site on Llewellyn Road, converting a former Pure Wafer International facility into a modern regional hub for South Wales.
The project included a major refurbishment of an existing two-storey building to create offices, a call centre, warehousing, a design centre, meeting rooms, and IT and communications spaces, alongside the construction of a new garage and vehicle maintenance centre. The upgraded depot also functions as a distribution centre.
Delivered by Speller Metcalfe the scheme was completed despite COVID-19 challenges and achieved a BREEAM “Very Good” sustainability rating, with finalisation targeted for autumn 2020.
