Principal Doorsets has successfully completed a major new sports and leisure centre at Flitwick, Beds. DarntonB3 were acting as Architects and Building Services Design consultants for this development.

The design of the project was a seamless process, drawing upon Principal Doorsets and the wider design team’s extensive sector knowledge.

Our team assisted in the design for the project so that the all facilities are easily viewed and accessed through the main circulation flows both from the outside in, providing great clarity and a visually stimulating space. Principal Doorsets provided product that worked with the surrounding decor to provide visually stimulating spaces

Principal Doorsets provided laminated product in fire ratings and with careful adherence to building standards so that aesthetics supported visual and accessibility requirements.

The new facilities replace the existing leisure centre which remained open whilst the new facility was built. The project received funding from Sport England and utilises the Sport England Design guidance documents.

The facilities include a 25m 8-lane Community Swimming Pool
